Total eclipse of the moon:The public is invited to view a total eclipse of the moon this month; the best opportunity until the year 2015. The eclipse will occur for North America and much of the Western hemisphere on the evening of Wednesday, Oct. 27., around 5:30 p.m. In Tucson, the full moon will rise over the eastern horizon, and it will enter the inner, umbral shadow of the Earth at around 6:20 p.m. The total eclipse will start around 7:28 p.m. and will last 75 minutes until 8:43 p.m. local time (MST).
